Fill out application and return to the Township Fire
Administrator at 1 Firehouse Lane

Membership committee schedules
meeting with applicant.

Medford Township Police schedules
meeting with applicant.

Application is read at the first monthly
business meeting.

Applicant is voted on at the second
monthly business meeting.

After successful background check,
township council approves application.

Are you EMT certified?
If NO, go to Step 8
If YES, go to Step 12

You become an associate member of Medford EMS (Associate members can go to meetings and help the business side of the squad, but can not respond to calls.)

Begin EMT school (You can begin EMT school before you are a member to speed up the process. Classes are usually offered in the spring and fall and last for about 3 months)

Once you complete your first module and become CPR certified your membership will be upgraded to observer. (Allowed to respond to calls in the ambulance and assist other EMTs but not allowed to make patient contact)

Pass your EMT class and become EMT certified

You become a probationary member (Probationary
members are assigned a duty crew and are the 3rd
member of a crew under the guidance of a senior EMT)

13

Log 20 calls while showing proficiency

You become a full responding member for
Medford EMS
